Chadds Ford Autumn by Dennis Park
Chadds Ford Autumn by Dennis Park

Dennis Park, whose work can be seen in selected galleries throughout the United States, is a native of Chester County, PA. Upon graduation from Unionville High School, Dennis pursued an education in fine arts and graphic design at the York Academy of Arts (York, PA), and with private instruction from Dennis T. Minch, a fellow Chester County artist.

In each of his paintings, Park strives to capture the flavor and heritage of our current surroundings, and days gone by. His goal is to instill a strong character into each of his paintings, thus drawing attention back to them time after time.

Denny’s work resides in many private collections, a list which includes such celebrities as Dom Deluise, Burt Reynolds, and Ann Bancroft. Locally, Downingtown National Bank, 1st National Bank of Chester County, and Chester County Hospital own many of his works.

Denny’s success in the arts has brought him many opportunities, one of which includes a commissioned painting for the 1985 class of Unionville High School. In 1987, he designed the cover for the Chadds Ford Gallery miniature show. In 1988, Denny was commissioned by the 7th North American Mushroom Conference committee to do a painting for their celebrated New Orleans conference. He painted Birmingham Octagonal Schoolhouse for the Kennett Area Senior Center, which also included a print. Denny was commissioned by the Lan-Chester Christian School to do a painting of Caln Hexagonal Schoolhouse. Limited edition signed and numbered prints are available of this painting. The money raised will benefit the school. In 1995, he was the featured artist for the ARC of Chester County. Park was commissioned to do the “Little Bits of West Chester” in 1999, 3 street scenes of West Chester, the first 200 years. The Unionville High School Art Gala had Dennis as their featured artist.

Park’s prints have always done well in the market place. Among the list of sold out prints are: Wintertime, Pocopson Station, Red Bridge Memory, Awaiting the Ferry, Winter’s Break, and Farm on Birmingham Road.
