Carole Clarke is best known for her watercolors of porches. She has found a wealth of inspiration in Martha's Vineyard, Block Island, the coast of Maine, and the historic district of Cape May. Her quest is to capture the light and shadow of a particular time of day and express the essence of a simpler lifestyle. She is a descendant of artist Margery A. Ryerson (1886-1989) who besides her significant contribution to American art history, compiled the book "The Art Spirit" along with her mentor, Robert Henri. An award winning artist, Carole's work is included in many public and private collections including that of internationally known celebrity photographer, Ron Galella. Her watercolors were selected for the Mansion in May Designer Show House, Montclair NJ, the book "To The Shore Once More, Volume II", and magazine covers of Inner Realm and Jersey Shore Home and Garden. Her collection is exhibited during May in Cape May's historic Chalfonte Hotel. She is represented by Washington Street gallery in Cape May, and Deck the Walls Rockaway Town Square Mall where limited edition giclee prints are available. Carole currently resides in northern New Jersey.
