Ecology.net                               October 27, 2001

Dear Visitor,

Due to the recent world events ecology.net will focus on a list of links.

It may be that the largest threat to ecology is war. Whether you believe war was thrust upon us, or that war is the opportunistic choice of those who profit in war, the outcome for the environment is the same. Some may say we need to put our concerns for ecology on the back burner for now, and others may argue putting ecology on the back burner, in the form of oil dependency and an economy dependence on arms production, brought us to this point.

September 11, 2001 was a horrendous example of what hate is capable of. Not them and their hate. There is no monopoly on hate. We are all one people, all capable of the same atrocities. As horrendous a deed as that was, a group allowed hate to blind it self to the fact that killing thousands of people was a crime against humanity.

I pray to my Higher Power, that we won't also become a group allowing hate to blind ourselves to the fact that killing thousands of people is a crime against humanity. There is no them and us. That is an illusion. There is just us (the citizens of the world) and love and hate. Hatred is the enemy!

Best wishes,

Nick Santoleri
